At the end of their shifts, the Briggers who built the Forth Rail Bridge would head to the Hawes Inn at South Queensferry, where the beer was lined up on the bar for their refreshment.
Three Bridges beer has been created by master brewer Gareth Lee in tribute to the designers, engineers and workmen who brought these fantastic bridges to Scotland.
Three Bridges® is a balanced golden ale 5% AVB. It has a lightly malted flavour with a touch of hops.
It is brewed in the heart of Fife using only the finest of ingredients. These include locally sourced water, Scottish sown, grown and malted barley, light crystal malt and wheat malt.
The moderate bitterness comes from a mixture of Target, Goldings and Scottish First Gold hops (when available). This all combines to make a refreshing and flavoursome beer.
Three Bridges® is a Scottish craft ale in the traditional style, but produced in small batches.
We could use superlatives to describe this classic beer, but the proof is in the tasting. Trade and public enquiries welcome.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Two more beers are “under construction” to celebrate the 1964 and 2017 bridges.
Descriptions of the three forth crossings – the two forth bridges and queensferry crossing – do not adequately describe the unique vista of the three bridges.
There is nowhere else in the world that hosts such an assemblage of grand engineering structures.
